Potters Manor House Part 2

Actually found it very sad visiting this beautiful house, to see a place that was obviously once a much-loved home reduced to crumbling disrepair and decay.  Most poignant was the quantity of personal possessions left behind: books, crockery, paintings, catalogues, ornaments, furniture, clothing, bottles of unguents and potions, medicines and remedies - nothing could speak more clearly of the previous occupants .... and here it all was, covered in bird excrement, cobwebs, mouse droppings and filth - pieces of a life left to rot.

All these photos taken with my Panasonic LX3 using 1:1 aspect ratio with dynamic black and white setting, and are straight from camera with no post-processing.

  1. These are all beautiful, & so poignant, can't pick out favourites any more. It's like the Marie Celeste, what happened to make the inhabitants just evaporate and leave all their possessions behind, especially paintings and books that must have been treasured? Extraordinary photos.
