Walk by the Waterworks

I went for a walk in the area around the waterworks between Chertsey and Laleham, following a recommendation from someone I got chatting to at Chertsey Meads. It was a beautiful summer day and I very much enjoyed discovering somewhere new to walk.

Ponies in a field nearby.

The M3 from above.

The bees certainly appeared to be appreciating the teasels.

There was lots of ragwort, sometimes in very large clumps.

A wonderful open space, and what was even better was that I had it all to myself!

This grass was soft and springy and made the most wonderful place to lie down.

I lay on my back for ages, staring up at the sky and watching the planes from Heathrow flying over. Felt incredible sense of peace.

Happiness.

My grassy bed!

One of the waterworks buildings.

Beautiful eucalyptus trees, the smell of them in the warm sun took me right back to previous holidays in Greece.

I spotted lots of these spiderweb constructions, that appeared to be housing clusters of tiny spider eggs.

All in all a most enjoyable walk, I will certainly be back in the future.
